Getting Organised for Baby. Sunday Ramble. | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

I haven't chatted much about our impending new arrival on WWW for a while, so today I thought I'd do the baby talk :-)

We've been getting organised finally. With the kitchen so nearly complete now our attention turns to planning the nursery. Being a second time mum we have quite a few things from when we had A. Which meant we needed to get into the loft and have a good old sort out.

As I spoke about here before, we already have our nursery furniture which we are going to use again. We have a plain white bumper and cot bedding to use again, plus sleeping bags we used for A.

I have purchased a couple of items for the nursery though, I snapped up some fun square print curtains from Mamas and Papas in the sale, which just need re hemming. I also got rabbit and toadstool kitsch night lights for a bit of whimsy fun.

We have plain white walls and a grey carpet, so I think we will either go for these woodland or circus wall stickers for little personality. I'd also quite like some shelving and sweet prints or photographs, if I get into gear. Any recommendations for fab affordable children's prints anyone?

We also need to find a changing mat.

I went mad buying clothes for A before he was born. This time round I feel awful that I haven't really brought much. We kept all the newborn neutral bits so we don't need any basics which is really useful.

I have brought a couple of things that caught my eye, but knowing how fast babies grow I daren't spend too much this time round. I love H&M for inexpensive modern baby clothes, Zara, Gap, Mamas and Papas and John Lewis have some gorgeous pieces too. I am not really one for blue boys clothes, so I love colourful fun outfits. I couldn't resist these sleep suits in 0-3 months...

Our old car seat has annoyingly expired and as it turns out isn't compatible with our current car anyway. So we have gone for the Britax Baby Safe with belted base this time. I hope we get on with it OK as we loved our Maxi Cosi Cabriofix.

We have a Bugaboo Chameleon, which we really loved using too. So we just need to give that a clean and get it assembled ready to go.

With A we used reusable nappies, not only as an eco concious option but as a cost efficient and kind to baby's bottom choice too. We loved using them and have purchased a new set of Bum Genius Version 4 which we got on really well with before, plus they look sooo cute!!

I have finally started getting bits together for my hospital bag too, there are some great lists on line for must haves which is worth googling.

We are trying to decide on sleeping options for baby, we have a crib and cot upstairs. But now having a house we need something for downstairs. I spotted the Sleepyhead and Cocoonababy on John Lewis which have rave reviews. But we could also go with a moses basket. At the moment I am swayed by the Sleepyhead I am just worried about how portable it is around the house. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Naming a human is tough. It seems like an impossible task, yet when a name is chosen and used you don't seem to give it much more thought.

We have a few name contenders for our baby boy, but I don't think we will decide on a name until we meet him. We are looking for something unusual but not strange hehe. I think we only have 3 names we really like at the moment but I need to keep searching in our books and online for more choices. Plus this time we are concious of the name matching well with A's.

Time seems to be running away from me a little this time around. It won't be too much longer until we get to meet our little one.

Fingers crossed he isn't early so we can make sure we have everything ready and perhaps I can grab a rest at the end of my pregnancy hehe!

Do you have any gems you have brought/used with your baby I don't know about? It's been 5 years since I was last expecting and I feel like everything has changed already XOXO Lou
