English-Inspired Pennsylvania Camp Wedding: Jessica + Andrew

Jessica + Andrew threw a rustic camp wedding with an unexpected (yet delightful) twist. They tied the knot on the grounds of a sweet Pennsylvania Scout Reservation and by including a handful of whimsical English details (as a fun nod to Andrew's heritage) they were able to craft a day that was truly unique and reflective of them! From her stunning dress, to the stylish paper goods, to the cozy lodge feel to their reception dinner, we're not sure we could love their day more! Jessica shares how they pulled off this charming fusion of two very different styles with us below:
We decided on pale colors for the wedding to give a romantic softness to the day, so blush pinks, sage greens, pale blues, and soft greys were integrated into all the elements. I found my Victorian-style gown at a BHLDN sample sale, which really solidified the vision I had for the wedding. After the dress, all the design elements fell into place, from Andrew's gorgeous chambray suit we found at J. Crew and his Liberty London pocket square, to finding all the flowers I wanted at grocery stores.Big thanks to Brooke Courtney Photography for the pretty captures of J + A's day and congratulations to the newlyweds!
Andrew: Most definitely getting to watch her walk down the aisle toward me. I lost track of what was going on around us and it felt like we were the only two people in the woods.
Jess: The ceremony couldn't have been more perfect. We were expecting rain, but hours before the ceremony the clouds broke, the sun shone, and birds sang as we said our vows. I felt like we'd stepped into a fairytale. We had our guests gather around us as some family members prayed for our new life together. Everything was just so special and precious.

To honor the British tradition, I wore horseshoe earrings as a symbol for good luck. 
And we incorporated floral and herbal symbolism in the Victorian tradition, so I carried white peonies, symbolizing a long and happy marriage, and Andrew wore a white peony in his lapel. Rosemary, lavender, sage, mint, and lamb's ears were worn by the wedding party and the parents/grandparents as symbols of love, longevity, fidelity, and happiness.

It is NEVER too soon to start designing the details of your wedding. The more you accomplish beforehand, the more you can relax and delegate as the day approaches. Don't forget to soak up every moment of your wedding day and remember that at the end of the day, whatever happens, getting to share this special time with your family and friends is what really counts!
