It shows more texture and drama and when done right it can be extremely eye-catching. The trick is to be as wild and creative as you can, because this style is not about perfection and ideal symmetry, it's about eclecticism, fun and rock n roll! What is more, I find extremely sweet, feminine and oh-so-sophisticated this style of a bridal portrait, when she appears so delicate in contrast with a large bouquet.
