I hope you've all had a great Easter and have stuffed yourselves silly with Chocolate! If you can't do it over Easter then when can you (she says reaching for her 3rd cadbury's cream egg!)

Rosy and John held their humanist wedding ceremony at Warren Farm, Blackboys in East Sussex followed by tea and cake in Rosy's grandmothers garden and their relaxed reception and party in Blackboys village hall. With gypsy and folk old apalachain songs playing through out, the vision for their wedding was to to have a sunny and blessed day and to provide a scared spare for their friends and families to meet each other.

Rosy and John wanted their wedding to be unique and done in their style with a strong hedonistic approach and a theme that was 'created by us.' Pretty much everything you see was homemade from the hand painted prayer flags used in the ceremony to the wild flowers picked from Rosy's grandmother's allotment and used to create the bouquets and hair garlands. Rosy and her bridesmaids walked barefoot to the ceremony and their guests were encouraged to be just a part of their blessing as they were..........their aim throughout the day was to keep things relaxed and happy and to promote the simple way of life.

There is a lot to love about Rosy and John's Wedding so make yourself a brew, break off another piece of Easter egg and enjoy this natural, earthy and happy humanist wedding.

We studied yoga in Rishikesh, India, that's how we met. Our last day together, John was returning to the USA and me to Greece. He enthusiastically went down on his knees and told me he couldn't imagine being without me. Then he asked me to be his wife! Of course I said yes happily!

For the ceremony we hung up a big prayer flag which I hand painted, we decorated the walkway to the alter ( a wooden table with herbs on it) with flowers and berries and we lit a large fire pit where we had the ceremony.

For the reception, we had it in a very English garden and had our lunch in a village hall nearby which we decorated with handpicked flowers, different coloured table clots, little baskets of berries and apples, coloured pom poms and hangings on the wall.

After the ceremony we had infinity food's scones and pastries with tea and coffee. For the main lunch we had a big pan of cooked qunioa with veg, beans and curry from bananas - all cooked by a family friend. For desert we had cupcakes and fruit salad which was served later on in the day.

We planned and inexpensive wedding but everything really did add up, I would definitely advise a couple to be prepared to spend more than anticipated. We had panned the wedding in 6 weeks. I organised a vast majority, calling on my family and friends for the music , food and venue (my grandmother's house). The woods we just stumbled on as were walking in the area in the hope to find our perfect place for the ceremony - we found it!
