Sarah + Gilliss are both scientists who share a love of books, museums, and the unadorned beauty of the great outdoors. So naturally, their gorgeous December wedding reflected their passions and included some of the most fun + smart (pun intended!) details we've seen. Some personal faves include their specimen card escort display, the quirky table terrariums, and the compelling, textural bouquets by The Nouveau Romantics. Seriously guys, wait 'til you see! And their venue, Chateau Bellevue in Austin, was the perfect backdrop for a science-inspired celebration of epic proportions.

From Sarah, When we began planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted to pay homage to our mutual interests, but were totally stumped on how to bring them to life for our wedding. Instead of focusing squarely on a theme, we began to jot down thoughts and phrases that inspired us: cabinets of curiosities, rare book rooms, Victorian greenhouses, and literary salons. My wedding Pinterest board included pictures of wild mushrooms, carnivorous plants, bowerbird nests, and sepia-toned pictures of artists and writers from ages past.

Such great advice for couples who are also stumped on where to start or what to choose for a theme! Big thanks to The Nichols for sharing their beautiful images with us today + congratulations to Sarah + Gilliss!
