This month, we are pleased to recognize Mrs. Hancock's Wedding Planning in Phoenix, AZ! How long have you been in the wedding planning business?

Our company has been in business for 8 years now and we started planning full-time 4 years ago. Of course, I did all the planning on my own wedding and honestly, people still talk about how wonderful our wedding was. And that, feels great; it's been 21 years...so, I think it was meant to be!

What made you chose to open your own planning business?

Planning weddings and other events is a perfect complement to my core business; so although the wedding planning division is separate, it made great sense! I've always loved formal entertaining and throwing parties. I'm really good at it and I'm happy to use more of my innate talents on a regular and daily basis. Weddings are so much fun and I feel very fortunate to work with women toward a perfect wedding day. It's incredibly rewarding work; even though I cry every time.

What unique experiences do you offer your clients?

We're really good at keeping the traditional aspects of a wedding alive, but use a touch of modernity throughout our planning. Nothing's worse than a cookie cutter wedding! Whether it's draping walls, looking for neat favor ideas, or incorporating touches of whimsy, we're always open to our bride's ideas. If they are wine aficionados or have some other mutual hobby, we find a way to bring that into their day. I appreciate brides who'll trust my eye for color, dress, decor and design ideas. I tend to be right on target and we do everything we can to keep a budget in check.

Do you have any advice for other wedding professionals?

Be on time, and professional and helpful with clients. This business can't be just about the money; it needs to be heart-centered. I'm always trying to raise my standards and love when others try to come to the same. My wedding professional referrals are talented, dress well, and understand that we're all on stage during an event.

How has mywedding helped you?

The marketing and customer service teams have been great and supportive of our business from the get-go. We have always appreciated the added effort you afford. Like getting calls to check in with us well before our renewals are due, goes a long way with me in the customer service aspect. We're proud to be affiliated with my wedding and your wonderful staff members and we thank you sincerely for your assistance!
