The Spring Green Issue: The Beauty

Did you love our Spring Green fashion post this morning? With an unusual colour palette, it's often hard for brides to translate this into their wedding day makeup - as much as you love green I'm pretty sure you don't want green eyes and lips for your big day! But don't worry, this afternoon our b.team beauty expert Ana is here with her best tips for creating a fresh, Spring makeup look.

There's been so many times I've had brides turn up confused to their bridal trial having picked a wedding colour palette that they can't see will translate into a make up look. In the case of our Spring Green Style Guide, green was chosen for it's clean freshness and spring-time feel. My advice? Rather than trying to use the colour in your make up look, create something inspired by your key words, in this case clean, fresh and simple! Our model is very fair, and has the most amazing long hair and gorgeous blue eyes! I decided to make those baby blues her key feature, starting with grooming and filling in the brows a little to get a clean shape. You can use a gel brow colour, pencil or brow powder whatever your preference. I then used a base on the lids to cover conceal and make a great primer for eyeshadow application. A little fine powder can be used over the base chosen to set it in place. I then applied a very pale cream gold on the lower lid and layered over that with a slightly warmer bronze gold on top up adding more towards the crease followed by a coat of waterproof mascara, essential for any bride! A soft eye pencil in a dark charcoal was used on the lash line and blended down with a brush to give a soft intensity near the root of the lashes. A light application of foundation was applied to even out skin tone with a touch of concealer used to cover any blemishes or imperfections. Next step I used a cream based bronzer to add warmth to the contours of the face mainly on the cheekbones and temples. Complexion is then perfected by blending so no lines of contour are visible and a light setting powder is used to give longevity to the foundation. A lip balm is applied to prepare lips for colour and then false lashes are applied to complete eye make up. Once the eyes are done you can then decide how strong a blush application to go for, with the colours I have in mind the best option for my model is a soft peachy blush to go with her fair to creamy complexion and is applied on the apples of the cheeks and then worked upwards towards we're the soft contour bronzer was applied. Lastly a soft pinky coral lip colour was applied to complement the blush but with the pink undertone helping it stand out and not merge into the exact shade as the blusher. The finishing touch is a cream highlighter to add radiance to the skin just above the cheekbones. With the hair then braided, a fern crown added, and a gorgeous dress, this is a real-life Disney Princess look {Tangled, anyone?} For any advice on your wedding day make up, feel free to comment below or get in touch via my email [email protected]
