Afternoon my lovely readers! Are you ready for your screen to be filled with pretty? We're big fans of Victoria Fergusson Bridal Accessories here at b.loved, so when Victoria approached me to be a part of her website and new collection launch of course I jumped at the chance to share her gorgeous work with you all! Shall We Dance is a stunning new range of ballet-inspired accessories, bringing all the glamour and romance of the stage into your wedding with wearable pieces, and the website a pretty place to show them all off!

To celebrate the new collection 'Shall We Dance' and the launch of her new website, Victoria is offering all b.loved brides 20% off until Sunday 9th February using the code 'b.loved'

Featuring bows, tulle and the delicate detailing she is so well known for, the new collection dazzles with crystals and sparkle. I caught up with Victoria to find out more about the inspiration behind her new collection ~

I rediscovered an old book on ballet when I moved house last Summer and was reminded how much I love it, all that tulle, pink satin slippers and headdresses, it's a natural sauce of inspiration for weddings. I also trawled through images from the Follies Berger and old Hollywood musicals. Think of all those fabulous chorus line dancers with their headdresses, feather fans and heels. I tried to mix some of this glamour with the romance of the ballet throughout the collection, and that's where I found the name 'Shall We Dance'. I always find it hard to describe my style, my designs are intricate and very detailed but at the same time I like to keep clean lines and simplicity. I just make things I love myself and my inspiration is most often drawn from pattern and looking back through the history of costume. As long as I have all my beading paraphernalia around me and plenty of time the designs just evolve into being. I adore a gown with a long sleeve and have also fallen for the ankle length gowns as seen in the 2014 Fall collections from Caroline Herrera and Marchesa. It goes without saying I love a dress accessorised! Of course the process is different for each bride, it's about choosing something that coordinates with the dress and reflects the brides personality. I encourage brides to try on different styles and types of accessory and get a feel for what suites them, and what they feel most comfortable in. Then, whether it be a headdress, set of hairpins or statement earrings, you find the design that lends itself perfectly to you and your dress. With my skills in dressing hair I can show brides how accessories look and work in different hairstyles, this is a great bonus and reassures brides that their chosen piece will work on the day. I love the moment when bride and father are left alone before leaving for the ceremony. As a make-up and hair artist I often get to see this and it's always special. There's very little not to like about my job, but receiving a thank you card with a photo tucked in it is the icing on the cake. Meet Victoria and try on the latest pieces at the Victoria Fergusson Designer Day at Luella's Boudoir, Wimbledon on Sunday 9th March. Book your appointment now!
