I love the green rolling grounds of Melbourne's The Heide Musuem of Modern Art. As a former artist's residence it has somewhat of a magic quality to it as you walk the windy paths. So I think it makes for a beautiful wedding venue! Kate Robinson Photography captured the wedding of Erin and Will who chose an intimate celebration for their beautiful wedding day.

Erin tells their story. "We met through mutual friends at a trivia night and the attraction was pretty immediate. Six months later we moved in together after a holiday to Vietnam and Thailand."

Erin chose a romantic Jenny Packham gown from Le Lourve and added shoes by Jimmy Choo.

Erin and Will met before the ceremony for photographs, Erin remembering, "Our photographer suggested a 'first look' which was something that I hadn't considered before where the bride and groom meet before the ceremony. It was such a brilliant suggestion as Will and I were able to take each other in and remember the reason for the day - us and share the moment in private."

Of their photographer, Erin tells, "We used Kate Robinson Photography. Kate was brilliant and we chose her because her style reflected exactly the type of wedding we were after. Natural, relaxed and romantic."

The groom and groomsmen wore suits from Asos while the bridesmaid's wore patterned gowns from Life With Bird.

Of marrying at The Heide Musuem of Modern Art , Erin tells, "We chose to get married at the Heide Museum of Modern Art, which is the former residence of Sunday Reed. It was one of the first venues that we went on a date and we both love Australian art and good food. So with a Cafe Vue onsite, it was the perfect venue for us! We chose to have our ceremony under the heritage oak tree outside the original residence."

Wunderplant styled the decor and flowers for the day, Erin explaining " Amy who is the owner was brilliant and as we both love Australian art and wanted to stay true to our garden/relaxed theme, we just gave her the colours that we were wanted and she sourced a lot of native Australian flowers. She also created the flower hanging in the oak tree for us."

Erin chose 'Air on the G string', by Bach for her walk down the aisle.

Carey Walden (03) 9388 9961 performed the ceremony.

The reception continue onsite at the museum's Cafe Vue. Erin remembers, "One of the funnier details, was that we couldn't decide between a croquembouche and a chocolate ganache cake. I suggested that we should have two cakes to reflect what we wanted and Will said that he didn't want to start our married life on a separate front, so we ended up with a 'cakembouche' which was a normal white chocolate ganache cake with a mini croquembouche on top. It looked terrible, but again, really reflected us!"

"We decided to have a small wedding of only 72 people and were surrounded by only our closest friends and family. The standout story was that my father and I ended up doing a rendition of 'Gnagnam Style' by Psy in the middle of a dance floor circle. One year on, people are still talking about the dance!"

Of their first dance, Erin tells "Our first dance was to 'Love Lies' by Josh Pyke. We chose that song as Josh Pyke was the first gig that we went to together. We had lessons as we're both a bit uncoordinated."
