We are totally blown away by all the exciting ideas this Italian wedding has to offer. You'll love it, we're positive! Francesca and Torsten fell in love with the written word before they fell in love with each other, so when planning their beloved book wedding in Italy their literary love was a top priority.

Need more? Of course you do. Don't forget to visit the full gallery here to see all of the fabulous details designed by WED Couture Milano and beautifully captured by Innocenti Studio.

From WED Couture Milano:
Dressed in an Italian Couture gown by Atelier Aimee Montenapoleone, the bride enjoyed her sunny July wedding looking retro in her bird cage veil. The glamorous contemporary touch was to be found under the dress in her Jimmy Choo heels. Francesca' s mother-in law entrusted her with something exceptional to borrow: a vintage necklace. Her something new, was the bouquet purse by Teak Arte e Natura, exclusively made for the bride. Flowers, by Deep Flowers, were everywhere, hydrangeas, eucalyptus, rose, rosemary, camomile, daisies, peonies, and craspedias.

Torsten met Francesca, they fell in love and had Marc (these were actually the words from their wedding invitation!), then they met me (Andrea of WED Couture Milano). I was waiting for them, fully inspired, to plan their wedding in Italy's most romantic location, Lake Como. Already known as being home to the stars, the lake set the tone for a very international and meaningful wedding captured in pictures by Innocenti Studio. In the Outdoor temple of Villa Olmo, the Italian bride and German groom exchanged their rings hidden in an old edition of the famous Italian Novel "The Betrothed" by Manzoni. Francesca and Torsten's journey to marriage wasn't as dramatic as the protagonists of the book, but their love for reading and writing showed in every precious detail.

Meaningful is definitely the appropriate word I would use to describe this beautiful wedding in Lake Como. From my first correspondence with them to everything that followed, I felt their wish to create a meaningful day in all its details, yet with a relaxed casual atmosphere. They wanted a big informal party with all of their friends with a "Books and Words" theme, to celebrate a very sentimental event of love and friendship that even words could not fully express.

Fun times were had at the photo booth. Food, by I Cucinieri di Pierino Penati, was another moment to enjoy with a big smile on your face, after all who wouldn't smile at the taste of Italian cold, mozzarella, Italian risotto, and Italian gelato? Characters of Germany were included in the day during Happy Hour with prestigious German beer and delicacies.

An old typewriter was left for the guests to write their wishes to the bride and groom before they sat down for dinner. The escort cards were bookmarks with famous quotes from famous writers chosen personally for their friends and family. Each table was named after a font and had a scrabble tray with their names spelled out on it. The entire stationary suite, as well as the wedding Logo F+T+M (Francesca, Torsten, and Marc) was carefully designed by Cut&Paste Lab.

From the Bride:
Everything was wonderfully organized, perfectly prepared. The schedule was smooth and went as it was naturally supposed to go. People were relaxed, happy, and wonderfully grateful to be with us. All the little pieces came together to create a big vision and that is the part that I liked the most!

My wedding planner and I chose a theme around books-words-poetry. The invite was more of a story than an official invite to the wedding. Our wedding bands were in an italian masterpiece novel called "i promessi sposi". The welcome table was covered in books and each guest had their own bookmark with a personal quote and the table name. The table names were fonts (Tahoma, Arial etc).

From WED Couture Milano:
Friends from all over the world had flown in to celebrate and were gifted with the couple's favorite book by Sepulveda. Set in Monaco (where the couple started their life together and lived for a few months after the birth of their baby Marc), the book tells the story of Max, Mex, and Mix, a cat, its owner, and a mouse. It celebrates differences and the meaning of friendship.

From the Bride:
It was a bit warm in the early afternoon, but bearable! At six, when happy hour started, both my husband and I changed. He completely changed, I simply took the long part of the skirt off, I changed my Jimmy Choo heels in a nice flat Jimmy Choo as well.

From WED Couture Milano:
The night went on with an 0pen bar and the infamous Spritz cocktails. The "naked" cake, designed by WED Couture and prepared by Pasticceria Ramperti, arrived just in time filled with chantilly and sweet fruits, ready to be cut after a day of tying the knot!
