The Bride Diaries: Katy’s Struggling With Decision Making

via

WWW real bride Katy is back today to share her latest bride diary entry. Katy is struggling with decision making and needs your help, she is also on the look out for an awesome band to rock their party, how did you find yours?  We’d love to hear from you below :-) XOXO Lou

In my first post I spoke about how little we had organised but how very excited I was to get organising. A month or two has passed and I’m slightly embarrassed to say I’m still in a similar situation.

It’s not to say I haven’t been emailing lots of companies, pinning lots of lovely things on pinterest or trying on many, many wedding dresses. I have done all of those things. However where I’m struggling is to actually decide on any one thing. So I thought I’d write today to see if anyone has had/is having a similar problem?!
I have got 100s of ideas, how do I choose which is best?! There are so many colours, flowers, decorations… so many choices! Decision making has never been a strong point of mine and planning a wedding is decision making overload. What’s more, it all costs so much money. How to choose a dress when it’s the most money I’ll ever spend on one item of clothing in my life. It has to be perfect, right? How do I know when it’s perfect?!

Sorry, I’ll stop myself before I start ranting – but if anyone has any tips on how to make sensible wedding-related decisions, please let me know! (Also see the photo of my Mum and I at the wedding fayre testing out champagne, so many choices – wedding planning is HARD work!)

So on to the subject of what I have been concentrating on, the main thing would be the band. We are having our wedding on a farm in a marquee. We are going to have a huge white shell to decorate and fill (hence all the choices!), and we feel an important part of that is to fill it with music. What is the best choice of music at a wedding? We want to hear songs we love that people will dance to. But we also want something a little bit different, something that reflects our style and what we like. So at the moment we are spending a lot of time listening to bands on the internet and asking friends for recommendations, and this weekend we found a band we thought would be perfect and were very excited… until we found out they are already booked the day of our wedding. Gutted! And having found them we can’t seem to find anything we like as much, so we are back to square one. Hopefully next post I will be able to report band booking success!

I have also been doing lots of research into photo booths for the wedding – testing them all out at various wedding fayres! I’m slightly obsessed with them, as I said in my first post, one of my first thoughts when we got engaged was ‘finally a chance to hire a proper old photo booth’! I wanted a little booth like the ones in the bus station when I was a teenager – 4 different photos and analogue prints. However one of the things I hadn’t thought about was how I’d collect the images, I want a copy of all the photos and this really lends itself to a digital booth. I think I have found the answer – a refurbished analogue booth but with a digital setup, it prints out the photos, I get a disc of all the images, plus it’s a lot cheaper, win! And we can still have fun seeing how many people we can fit in the booth – though I am slightly worried I’m going to miss half the wedding as I try and get in every photo…
