Beauty School: The Ultimate Guide to Luminizers

Beauty School: The Ultimate Guide to Luminizers

via

Let’s face it: it’s December and all of our complexions could use a little pick me up. Luminizers are the answer to all of the dull, sallow winter skin woes. They diffuse imperfections, bring a lit-from-within glow and highlight your best features. The only question left is which one should you choose. We can help with that…

Powder Luminizer

Powders are a great place for beginners to start. Luminizers in powder form generally make for the quickest application. They’re also easiest to remove if you go a little overboard. Just take a clean cotton ball or tissue to the area and then dust pressed or loose powder on top. A powder luminizer can be any blush with a hint of iridescence that’s close to you your natural skin tone. Even eye shadow with a satin or soft shimmer finish will work.

Liquid Luminizer

Liquids are the easiest to blend, but remember a little goes a long way. Start with a dot and build up when needed. Liquid luminizers are good choice when you’re going for more of a dewy glow. You can also mix a drop or two in with your moisturizer or foundation to perk up your complexion and give it an all-over radiance.

Cream Luminizer

Cream formulas are the heavy hitters when it comes to luminizers. They tend to be more pigmented and pack a bit more shimmer than their liquid and powder counterparts. They will still deliver the soft sheen of the other formulas, as long as you apply with care. Work in thin layers, blending as you go. Step back from the mirror and check out your work in before going back to add more.
