#131: shades of grey

#131: shades of grey

via

Morning my b.loved’s! There’s only been one word to describe this weekend; grey.  Hence my inspiration for this week’s board.  Far from being miserable, cold and boring, a grey wedding palette is the ultimate in cool and calm sophistication.  It would work for any style of wedding from 1920′s vintage glamour {just like Bianca & Tiaan’s wedding} to full-on modern minimalism {seen in my modern monochrome board}, but today we’re channelling contemporary romance {and absolutely nothing to do with the book!}

For this look there’s nothing more beautiful than calligraphy, a clean and simple suite with swooshing lettering works perfectly to hint at the elegance to come.  All white flowers, with hints of silvery berries and foliage add texture and contrast against a dove grey wedding dress. Oh how I’d love to see more brides wearing this sophisticated shade!  Don’t be tempted to overcomplicate this look – less is more really comes in to play here!  Simple table settings are brought to life with soft grey linens and white flowers displayed in clear or white vases, and ceilings strung with simple white fairy lights turn your elegant day into a sophisticated soiree.
