If there's one trend that's been ubiquitous in recent Fashion Weeks, it's the play for comfy footwear. Both on the runway (ACNE, MSGM, Moncler, Marcus Lupfer, Tommy Hilfiger, rag & bone, Adam Selman and others) and running between shows, cushy-soled sneakers have been spotted on some of the most stylish folks in the fashion business.

We rounded up the snazziest sneaks as seen on street style stars at the last two Fashion Weeks to establish the latest in the sporty shoes and how to wear them. From fur accents to platform silhouettes to girly embellishments, rubber soles offer many ways to go.

Embellished Slip-Ons

Bows and crystals were some of the most popular ways to prettify the classic slip-on sneaker during Fashion Week. We like them paired with skirts and as a comfy alternative to ballet flats. The chunkier sole and athletic shape adds a strong element to a flirty look. Perhaps for this reason, a blushing pink seemed to be the color choice on the feet of the street style elite.

Black High Tops

The masculine and chunky silhouette of a black high top sneaker pairs best with skinny jeans or a long skirt-or both. Keep your bottom half neat and find a fun feminine way to lighten the heaviness of the dark soles like a sheer skirt or a silk scarf or pretty hosiery.

Fur Accents

Little tufts seem to be popping up on every kind of accessory in recent months, and shoes are no exception. A soft flourish of fur adds a bit of whimsy and luxury to your sneaks. This fall we saw the trend adopted by some of street style's most adventurous dressers. Dresses seemed to be the preferred outfit for pairing with the coolest look in fuzzy footwear.

Graphic Nature

We've been detecting a pattern on all continents hosting Fashion Weeks: Bold sneakers are the favored mode of transportation. With dresses or jeans, a funky print can add just the right amount of flair to make a basic outfit pop. Trend trackers across the globe were donning dots, stripes, gingham and floral on their feet. The trick is to be OK with busy, to try power clashing (plaids with stripes, dots with paisley) and to just have fun.

Shoe Shine

Add some polish to your feet by picking up a shiny sneaker. Without a doubt, a glossy pair of kicks were one of the most fun footwear selections on the Fashion Week streets. The beauty of a metallic shoe is that it can go with just about everything. Plus the silver, gold or pewter colors immediately dress up jeans, shorts or skirts while padding your peds.

High Stepping

Even ladies who feel like they need a lift can slip into the new sneakers. Cool platform styles offer the height of a heel but with comfort. Wear them with a leather pant or tights and a skirt. Black or another neutral color help add to the lengthening affect of the shoe.
