Elegant Country House Wedding at Iscoyd Park

Elegant Country House Wedding at Iscoyd Park

via

We don't have a favourite wedding dress designer (we have about 50!) but there's always something about a bride in Jenny Packham that signals an entire wedding that will be just as elegant as her and her gorgeous dress.

Aimee and Daniel's timeless wedding day is proving our theory, spot on.

The pair married in Iscoyd Park, a beautiful country house in on the Welsh-English border, but their day was also dotted with a few fun Irish touches.

And, in her signature beautiful style, Victoria Phipps Photography was on hand to capture it all.

Aimee and Daniel created a celebration that was intimate and classic in style, with gorgeous Chiavari chairs, pretty floristry, and elegant table decor in keeping with the 18th century setting.

Aimee's bridesmaids were her stylish something blue (we told you it was a trend!) while her stunning beaded Jenny Packham wedding dress paired with Daniel's navy three-piece suit perfectly.

Prettiest of all though, was their adorable flower girl and daughter Florence, who also wanted to get to the be the one to kiss the bride (and the groom) on their beautiful big day...

Our Wedding

Dan & I knew we didn't want a big, extravagant wedding - far too scary (and expensive!) - but rather something small and intimate with our closest family and friends around us. We fell in love with Iscoyd Park in Shropshire. It had recently been renovated when we booked our wedding there and they'd done such a fabulous job.The house has such amazing features, but also retains a really homely, intimate feel. We chose March as the off-peak date meant the venue was more affordable and invited 55 guests to celebrate with us.

The Inspiration

We didn't have a strong theme, but I found a pretty silver/blue/green colour on Pinterest which I liked and managed to find bridesmaids dresses in the perfect shade. We also used this colour for the stationery. It was a lovely fresh colour - perfect for Spring!

The Dress

I'd always loved Jenny Packham's dresses. I tried on her 'Eden' dress and all the beautiful beading made it feel so special, I knew I had found the right dress for me. Our daughter Florence was our flower girl and she looked very cute in a little white dress from Monsoon.

The Music

We wanted to have traditional Irish music during the day, along with some live music for the ceremony. It took a long time to find someone who could do both, but Kate and Dave from Mouse's Nest ceilidh band were amazing. They learnt three songs that I particularly wanted for the ceremony on the guitar and fiddle, then played Irish jigs and reels during the drinks reception.

The Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony took place at Iscoyd Park in their beautifully simple, light ceremony room - it brought me to tears!

Favourite Moments

One of my favourite moments was when Florence ran up to give Dan & I a kiss right after we said our vows!

The Photography

Whilst researching photographers online I came across Victoria Phipps. I loved her portfolio, her shots were so natural and timeless, which I really wanted for our wedding. Rather than lots of posed shots I wanted someone who could capture the day more informally, reflecting the emotions and atmosphere. Victoria did this beautifully and we're thrilled with the results.

The Flowers

I wanted Lily of the Valley for my bouquet and mixed it with roses, freesias, stephanotis and eucalyptus. The pale pink and cream colours in the bouquets complimented the blue bridesmaids'dresses as well as my wedding dress. In the ceremony room and on the front door we had roses, lilies, gypsophila and greenery, while our tables were decorated with vases of flowers on glass cake stands and mirrored tiles surrounded by tea lights.

The Decor & Details

Dan is Irish, so we liked the idea of reflecting this with some typical Irish phrases for our table names. This gave our guests something to chat about!

The Refreshments

Because our party was so small, this meant we could all dine together inside the house in one of the loveliest rooms. It was very cosy and intimate and the Fine Dining Company served the most delicious three-course dinner. Then came the amazing speeches, when Dan surprised everyone (me included) by crying all the way through his!

Advice for Other Couples

The best advice I can give is to try not to get too caught up in the type of wedding you feel you should have and just focus on creating the day you want. For us this was something simple, intimate and relaxed - it was perfect and I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing!

So pretty! What a beautiful venue, I love how having an intimate wedding meant they were able to use the house for their reception too.

Thanks so much to Victoria Phipps Photography, and of course the wonderful Aimee and Daniel for sharing their elegant country house wedding with us.

Be inspired by more beautifully chic wedding days.
