Releasing doves, Philippines

In Philippines, at traditional wedding receptions, the groom and bride release two doves into the air to represent prosperity, happiness and peace. The doves are usually kept in a decorated cage and can be opened by pulling a cord or ribbon or manually.

Confetti, Italy

In Italian the word confetti doesn't mean scraps of paper to be thrown away, but sugar treats, particularly almonds in different colors, that guests receive as favours at the wedding reception.

Stealing the groom's shoes, India

There's a very fun tradition in Indian weddings - the bride's sisters needs to steal the shoes of the groom once he enters the wedding tent and promises to give them back only if they get a fee in return.

Money dance, Poland

The money dance or also called Czepek is a Polish tradition. Guests dance with the couple by pinning money onto their clothing to help them finance their honeymoon.

The cake is one of the most important factors of a Jamaican wedding. It is made from rum and dark fruits, and can be decorated in several different styles.
