Recently we chatted about how it's impossible to do wedding planning "wrong" - how you don't know what you don't know, and today? I want to chat about the chilled out couple factor.⁠ ⁠I am all for planning your wedding without stress, but if you do feel stress? If you do hard things & you find it stressful? It is normal.⁠ Want to know how normal? I've written thousands of weddings, I have told wedding stories of every single kind. Thousands of times, I have read the advice from past brides & I have edited it. But when I planned my wedding day, I'm pretty sure I cried a gazillion times, I got stressed a gazillion times. It had nothing to do with how I am in real life (although to be fair, I'm not chilled) but it's HARD! Working & planning an enormous event in your spare time, fitting in appointments & making endless decisions. It's hard navigating budget & guest lists & figuring out what each and every vendor needs to get the job done.⁠ Its always the goal to be a chilled out bride or groom but just because you get stressed during wedding planning, it doesn't mean you suck at it, it just means you're working through it & coping with really crazy scenarios and considering hundreds of things that the very same time, all with plenty of emotion. And if you think this is obvious? More power to you, because sometimes, just like advertising for bikinis and diet shakes, what is depicted to the outside world as perfect, can make us feel rather rubbish on the inside when we're living behind the scenes ⁠So we say, break out the cheese, break out the wine and cups of tea and embrace it.
