BEAUTIFUL DESTINATIONS

Just after nightfall, the side street began to echo with muffled sounds of “whoosh” as cars passed down the alleyway — their tires slipping and gripping the wet pavement as the soft pitter-patter of water droplets fell over the roofs and onto the walkways. It was as if the world was washing away the previous season- a fresh start as the months turned to fall. There was nothing else to do on this night in Portugal but sit with one’s thoughts and the sound of falling rain. (
