Mother’s Day is an emotional day for me, as it is with anyone who has lost their mother. Luckily, for me, I’m able to focus on celebrating with Sandi. I still spend time remembering my Mom but Mother’s Day has taken on a whole knew meaning over the past 3 years. This is Sandi’s 3rd Mother’s Day, and it’s even more special this year because it marks 10 years since we initially started trying to have kids. Had everything went as planned, Luke would be 9 years old. Infertility is a bitch. It’s something no one thinks about until it happens to you. I know we didn’t. It’s also something that isn’t talked about enough. 5 years into our infertility struggles, I decided to start documenting everything. I had just started getting into photography, and it took a lot of convincing for Sandi to let me do it. We knew that it was something that may not lead to a happy ending. But, because it did, and we’re able to share the experience with others who are traveling on a similar journey, we shared it publicly when Luke was born. With Mother’s Day being here, and it being the 10 year anniversary since we started trying to have a child of our own, I wanted to share it again.
