I had no clue why at that point (we were supposed to be decorating the Christmas tree), but he grabbed my hand and lead me towards the backyard. The gate had a sign with my new initials painted on it and when he opened it up I saw the most beautiful proposal set up – candles lining the walkways, lights strung everywhere, photos of us all around and three tree stumps. On the middle stump was a box I'd made for him a few years ago – he opened the box, pulled out a letter, and read it aloud as we sat together on the other two stumps. After that, he stood me up, then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him..."
