James Emolo - Journeys - Maha Kumbh Mela

The Kumbh Mela is a Hindu festival held every 12 years and its exact timing is decided by the zodiac. Hindu pilgrims have been arriving at Allahabad to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela since 14 January 2013. Most pilgrims stay in a tented city on the flood plains of the River Ganges.
