View Large I think I’m going to raise my prices for photographing weddings. It’s not something I want to do, but the market and my schedule demands it. I have worked pretty darn hard the past 3 years to build my wedding photography business. My first one was in June of 2005 when I got $300 for shooting a friend of a guy I work with. Since then I have been the main photographer on 40 weddings. Looking at my calendar, I have up to 21 more this year. Now, shooting 32 weddings in one year is a lot for a single photographer. But I also have a full time professional job, teach a class at the local Park & Rec, and have 2 kids and a house. There is no doubt that I love what I do, but I love my family more.
