Kate and Jason's Bush Chapel Wedding - Wedding Friends

We are in love with today's beautiful wedding, especially the pops of red colour! Kate and Jason tied the knot at the bush chapel at Imperfect Perfection. A special thanks goes out to Love & Grace for submitting this feature.

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?
We initially met when we were 6 years old, at school, in a small town in Zambia. (Needless to say that we didn't enjoy each other very much.) When my parents' contract came to an end, my family moved to South Africa and, Jason & I lost contact. We ended up meeting up again at University in Pretoria. It wasn't too long before we were dating... The rest is happy history!

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?
At the end of 2015, we had a planned a road trip from Kalk Bay to Umhlanga Rocks for Christmas! The journey started after the wedding weekend of Jason's middle brother! We had had a year of weddings, as all 3 of his siblings had been married that year, and we were looking forward to a holiday with just the two of us! Our first stop was De Hoop Nature Reserve. After an incredible walk down an immaculate beach, he asked the big question... It turns out that he had been planning our engagement for months, had asked my parents' permission secretly and, had designed the gorgeous ring to go with it!

The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The most memorable moment of the day was just after the ceremony when the bush chapel had emptied of all out guests... A quiet moment under the trees, the first one as husband & wife, before the incredible festivities together with our gorgeous family & friends! We had both been prickling with anticipation for the day, and had a chance to enjoy the idea of our next part of forever after the promise of our vows!

Describe your wedding day in one sentence
"We didn't realise we were making memories, we were just having fun!" Winnie the Pooh

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?
Enjoy every minute of the planning, excitement of the build-up to the day, as well as every moment that makes up your day! It all passes so quickly & every moment of the process is so precious! Don't have too much of a fixed idea of what you want for the day - let it beautifully and naturally evolve!
