Michael proposed to Michelle near a small lake in the middle of Vancouver's Stanley Park. "He pretended to take a photo, and instead had the camera filming the whole thing," Michelle shares. "I had no idea it was coming-so much that he thought I was going to say no at first!"

With an intimate wedding in mind, the couple chose midnight blue, blush, ivory and gold as their colour palette. "We didn't want the decor to feel themed, but more dreamy and romantic," Michelle explains. Big garden roses, peonies and greenery were loosely arranged and complemented the space perfectly. "The arch for our ceremony and sweetheart table was stunning," Michelle adds.

Michelle painted a picture of the place where they got engaged as a welcome sign for their guests. "I was sure if it was going to turn out. I had never painted anything that big before," Michelle explains. "Michael loves it, and wants to hang it in our living room as a memento!"
