In the FWS Office we LOVE stationery and we are thrilled today to welcome creative wedding stationery company Belleink to the blog. Headed up by designer Nicki, Belleink is a creative wedding stationer where daydreams are brought to life. Nicki has an established career in the design and advertising industry and has extensive years experience as a trained graphic designer. With all her history, you know you're in safe hands.

Belleink's key approach is having a personal touch, Nicki believes creating your stationery isn't just about the end product, it's about the journey you go on to get to your wedding. She loves being a part of that journey, crafting a design that you will love whilst making the whole process stress free.

Alongside this, Belleink understand the importance of using quality materials, after all the first thing your guests will see will be your stationery, and boy do you want it to impress! Nicki carefully chooses and works with quality materials, believing these materials should sing to your guests the moment they open their envelopes.

But I was keen to find out more about the designer behind the brand and caught up with Nicki to find out more.

How did you become a designer and involved in the weddings?

I've always had a love for art and creating things, so I took this into my studies, honed these skills and developed a passion for graphic design and typography. Using the skills I learnt I took these and got myself a job in advertising creating global campaigns for both print and TV. I've been doing this for over 12 years.

So how did I get into weddings?

I discovered my passion for weddings when I got married. When I designed my own stationery I had so much fun and loved playing around with materials and print finishes, so I wanted to continue doing this for other brides and grooms to be.

What skills do you think that it takes to be a fabulous designer and creating truly personal bespoke items?

The skills I have managed to acquire over the many years of designing in a professional environment have set me up nicely for creating truly bespoke designs for couples, as this is what I've been doing for huge global clients. I understand the process that comes with creating an item from concept, development, discussions with clients, choice of materials right through to quality print production.

What type and style do your brides often have?

I often get approached by couples to create something a little unusual, not the normal wedding invitation you might see being passed around. And I love the fact that people trust me to create something for them from scratch. This is what I find most exciting!

What are some of the questions that you frequently get asked by couples for their wedding stationery?

When working with clients I often get asked if can create a whole suite of stationery for their entire day. Of course I can! And by doing this the whole day ties together very nicely.

Some couples ask me why I ask for information a little earlier than they anticipated, but from experience I always like a little grace period, and this came in really handy with one of my clients. I received their table plan and printed it 2 weeks before their big day and they noticed they had mis-spelt a name on it, this grace period allowed us to get another printed and sent across in time for their big day. PHEW!

What 5 things are little known facts about you|?

Ooo this is a tough one...5 things.. OK

1. I love to sing

2. I take Burlesque dance classes as my inner dancer is striving to get out

3. I absolutely LOVE cats. I have two, Maya and Pepi (Egyptian Pharaoh names ;D)

4. I'm a very very honest person

5. I try and be nice to everyone, even when they're not as you just never know what they're having to deal with on that particular day.
