10 Creative Ways to Use Fabric in Your Wedding

via

Here at GWS, we see a lot of creative weddings, and we mean A LOT. What's the one thing we've noticed that can transform any space, no matter the budget? Fabric!! Sheets and swaths of it, draped and hung, shredded or dyed, sheer and ethereal... Fabric, in and of itself, is not typically thought of as a standard décor item; when you're planning, it's thrown to the wayside, forgotten amidst the florals, chairs, flatware rentals, confections and everything else. Right? The thing is, fabric definitely shouldn't be the underdog, because it can truly liven up a space and give it a completely different feel!

We've teamed up with our friends over at Fabric.com to show you some creative ways to use fabric in your wedding - along with links to find the fabric to recreate these looks for your wedding or event! Whether you're planning a backyard ceremony, having your wedding in an industrial loft, a rustic barn, or off in the wilderness, we've got a few ideas you can easily recreate to make the space your own!

Ready to see what we're talking about? Let's look!

1. This Rustic Winter Elopement Backdrop

from this Rustic Winter Elopement Inspiration at Terrain

When paired with the circular floral hoop, the semi-sheer fabric takes on a whole new look! This is definitely an eye-catching and easy way to frame a couple, without letting the rest of the backyard/venue become a distraction!

Want to recreate this look? Here are a few fabrics that would do the trick:
Sheer Voile White // Nylon Chiffon Tricot White // Sheer Drapery White Snow

2. This Calligraphy Backdrop with the Ladies of the Bachelor

from this Romantic Desert Shoot with the Ladies of The Bachelor

We *love* the way this fabric was transformed with the calligraphy - as if it were a large scroll! We've seen this idea used as décor piece several times, and each time it absolutely stuns. Greenery or florals along the sides are a welcome addition, too!
