We asked Oli of Oli Sansom Weddings five questions in five minutes:

What is your favourite after five drink?

M8, do you even Shiraz? Yeah but nah, pretty into Espresso Martinis. So it'll start with the former and finish with the latter. Or the other way around - it really depends what kind of week it was.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

I always default to Wilsons Prom for this, and went there every year as a kid. A fun 3 hour drive to one of the most wonderful parts of Victoria. Swimming around Tidal River & Sealers Cove, sunset hangouts at Mt Oberon, and hikes down any number of the obvious or more hidden trails, some of which are alien like. Whether rocking a tent or putting your yuppie hat on and hiring one of the incredible modern cabins you can't go wrong. And wombats. Did I mention wombats? Only the greatest animal ever created. A great place in summer, but an equally great one in the winter downtime to explore. This message has been brought to you by the Victoria Tourism Association (slip the moolah under the mat guys).

Favourite restaurant?

Especially in Melbourne, we're spoilt for choice. I've always said there's a real "care economy" - and so the standard is crazy high. This is both good and bad, and it's changed how I view restaurants, cafes, the lot. My favourite cafe nearby for example has fairly ordinary coffee, but the ramshackle-meets-jungle fitout (not a white hipster tile in sight), calm background music and experience of the gloriously excitable owner who cheerfully can't ever seem to remember your order (might be why it's usually empty) makes that a moot point. And it's not about getting the "best" all the time - that's boring. Am I leading this into an apologetic segue about how I love this crappy restaurant somewhere with appealing salmon-toned curtains & lampshades? No, but I'm more interested in the lo-fi now and the smaller things that go into making a place great and personally appealing, rather than the obvious. Same with our photography...the craft matters, but it's just as important, if not more that they like that little x-factor about you. So while I definitely don't have a favourite here I'm going to say that sometimes, you need a little bit of Pellegrinis (66 Bourke St, Melbourne) in your life.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Living in Prahran, if I head out it'll usually be to either Journeyman or my super-local, Soldier On. Great crew and incredible food & drink. Hard to go wrong south-side. If I resemble an adult and get out early enough, Rosamond in Fitzroy is a favourite little gem. But don't tell anyone about it.

Your favourite wedding story?

There's once-in-a-lifetime one that involves 'the Boss', who was a guest, casually jumping up and fronting the band for an hour in a backyard in New Jersey. An incredible & treasured experience being two feet away from the best of the best (while working my ass off) that I'm still pinching myself about. It's a gloriously strange job sometimes.
