An Intimate and Free Spirited Rainy Mountain Elopement

An Intimate and Free Spirited Rainy Mountain Elopement

via

I just love today's styled elopement by Heather Nolan Photography. The intimacy, the rain, the couple, their free spirits, the woodland and mountain setting, the story telling. Everything about it works so well together and it really does capture how I would imagine a genuine elopement would be. Just the two of you, embracing the moment and each other in a gorgeous part of the world.

Heather Nolan describes her photography style as being 'for the adventurous couples who want to design a wedding or elopement that reflects the free spirits that you are.' I think this shoot illustrates that statement perfectly. Heather and the couple went to a waterfall, woodland and mountain in the pouring rain and embraced every second of it. The result, a beautiful shoot that not only captures the couples free spirits but also how atmospheric capturing a wedding in the rain can be.

Amazing Mountains and Intimate Wilderness....

The inspiration behind this shoot was to create some images that really show off the Bay of Islands area of Western Newfoundland. Just around the corner from Gros Morne National Park, I thought this would be the perfect place to create a styled elopement with some amazing mountain backdrops and untouched, intimate wilderness. After getting ready in Quinn and Tom's adorably cozy, eclectic house, we headed out of Corner Brook for the ceremony at Coppermine Falls, on the side of Blomidon Mountain. It was POURING rain, but everyone was in great spirits. We stopped for a picnic huddled under umbrellas and some hot tea before driving down to Bottle Cove for some amazing views for the bridal portraits. The whole team were in such great spirits despite the rain and proved that rain on your wedding (or elopement!) day can be an adventure. It was a joy to photograph these gorgeous folks with some of my favourite views.

Just beautiful. Anyone else now want to grab their partners and go frolicking in the rain!?
