LA meets London in A Tropical Wedding Styled Shoot

LA meets London in A Tropical Wedding Styled Shoot

via

Typically the styled shoots we feature on Festival Brides tend to be outside in woodlands, wild flower meadows, barns or wedding tipis but every so often we like to mix things up by featuring a shoot that perhaps you wouldn't expect. One that is inside a cool and vibrant space with modern and chic styling and of course beautiful wedding ideas and inspiration. Today we are featuring one of those shoots and it is so damn cool. From the cake to the styling on the bride - we love everything about it and I have been very excited about sharing it with you today.

Put together by wedding videographers, This Modern Revelry and featuring a list of red carpet worthy UK wedding suppliers, today's LA meets London shoot mixes city chic with bohemian elegance perfectly and shows how you can use a venue's space to enhance aspects of your wedding beautifully such as their use of the patterned table and tropical wall paper.

Enjoy this shoot peeps - its a keeper!

Effortlessly Cool....

As videographers we love working with couples who are all about a modern aesthetic - anyone can follow tradition, but you've got to have guts to be original (no matter what the family thinks!). Weddings don't have to be so frilly anymore (one reason Festival Brides is a go-to source of inspiration). The concept of this shoot was inspired by the Central London location of The Fable, which has an on-point modern city style and space for days! Seriously, we got lost in there more than once. The third floor at The Fable has palm leaf print wallpaper, Tom Dixon lighting and a 'Come on Down' neon - we brought in some sun-kissed pale accents to the shoot and the LA-vibes in London shoot was born.

We focused on bringing together London suppliers who share our modern, relaxed vibe and we think you'll agree, the shoot has an effortlessly cool look - particularly for those of you getting married in the winter and aren't too bothered about being outside!

Modern and Laid Back....

The styling is cool, modern and a little laid-back, perfect if you don't take yourselves too seriously and love to party. We used the palm leaf motif in the stationery created by Sailor & Scout and the simple but super striking cake by the ever-awesome Sugared Saffron Cake Company in colours that would be at home on Venice beach. The flowers by Charley at The London Flower House bring all of the colours together in an ace mix of bold and stylish.

Our photographer for the shoot was Kitty Wheeler Shaw. Her style is really laid back and we had so much fun shooting alongside her all day. She's got such a great eye for awesome use of light and we love how she used it to create such edgy images with attitude (also, she's such a fun person to spend a day working with!) Our concept for the film for this shoot was to make it feel fresh and modern without feeling false or posed, something we try to do in all of our films, but this one in particular had such style.

The dress is part of the brand new collection from Jesus Peiro. We chose this one in particular because we love the slight nod to tradition with a classic shape and a full skirt but the combination with the polka dot lace makes it feel really modern. With the styling talents of Kasia Fortuna and Birute Thomas on hair and make up our bride looks glamorous and pretty fierce! To complete her outfit we ended up using two pairs of Emmy London shoes because we couldn't pick between them. The mules give such an incredible 70's vibe but the neon peep toes definitely give them a run for their money. Top tip - Emmy have just opened a boutique - it's a seriously shoe-goals kind of place!

We loved working with this band of local suppliers - they are all such fun to work with and super chilled people. After this taster of The Fable we're pumped to be shooting our second wedding of 2017 there this week!
