Michael and Kaitlynn first met at work, where they developed a friendship that grew into something more. "As time passed, we both realized we were growing into something special, and wanted to explore a relationship with each other. Michael asked me out on a date, and after that, we were inseparable," Kaitlynn says. Later, Michael decided to make it official, proposing over their Christmas holidays in South America. "To my heart's joy, a ring box was waiting for me in the Christmas tree. Michael took the box in his hand, got down on one knee, and in the most loving way, asked me to be his wife, and share the rest of his life," says Kaitlynn.

Michael and Kaitlynn chose a cream and gold colour scheme for their wedding venue, Stratus Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. "The palette we selected was warm, classic and romantic, which fit the balmy month of August," Kaitlynn explains. "It was a great reflection of the dreamy feel we wanted to create in the romantic winery setting."

One of the bride's favourite wedding features was the flowers. "I'm in love with flowers. Ever since I watched Julia Robert's wedding in Steel Magnolias, I knew I wanted flowers-lots of them-at my wedding," says Kaitlynn. "I was so thrilled when I walked outside and saw how the reception area was arranged. It was like walking into a blossoming garden of matrimonial Eden!"

The day was full of special moments, but both the bride and groom agree that one the best parts of the evening was their first dance. "We chose the acoustic version of 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri to bring out extra emotion for what we felt on the day. This dance is one of my favourite moments to watch in our wedding video," Kaitlynn says. Exchanging their vows was another unforgettable moment from the wedding, one which Kaitlynn says she will cherish forever. "Just hearing the man you have dreamed of all your life promise to love you, and be with you for eternity, is a moment that can't be put into words."
