We are introducing you to the lovely Emily Johnson today, a fabulous wedding photographer renowned for capturing those candid special wedding moments and natural couple portraits. Emily has recently joined our Festival Wedding Directory and we are so excited to have her on board. Her style is fun and unobtrusive which couldn't be more perfectly suited to Festival Brides plus she has excellent taste in music festivals as you are about to find out!

We asked Emily a few questions about herself, her photography style and what you can expect from her if you were to book her for your wedding.

I am a wedding and portrait photographer living just outside of London in Bedfordshire. I have lived and worked in Europe and have travelled all over the place to Asia, Africa and Canada. Although I love to travel I am at my happiest by the fire in the cottage I share with my Finacee Charlie, living round the corner from my Mum and Dad! I love to have adventures (especially with my camera in hand) but my family is incredibly important to me.

Glastonbury 1971 - David Bowie acoustic set at 5am. Although I am super excited about going again next year.

It started by mistake, I was at a loose end and my Dad let me play with his camera one afternoon. I found I had a knack for capturing the little moments and weddings are just full of them. Once I had done my first wedding, I was completely hooked!

This is such a tough question because I have so many - grandparents dancing together, Father's crying when they see their little girl in her dress, the questionable dancing at the end of the night.... However, my favourite part of the wedding is always the confetti. The couple are always elated and are surrounded by all their loved ones. Its always such a beautiful shot as they run through the cascade of petals!

From the get go, I make a point of being approachable and adaptable at a wedding. Yes I am there to blend in and I will, I'll take all those little snap shots of small moments, but at the same time I'll get chatting to your folks and I'll mingle with your guests- you get some amazing shots when people feel comfortable and at ease!

Here's a little testimonial from one of my 2016 brides:

"Thank you SO much for the photos, they're incredible!! So gorgeous, I love all the colours. We had the most amazing day.THANK YOU for being so fantastic. You made us both feel at ease and everyone has said how discrete and professional you were. We couldn't have asked for more."

I have two. Firstly, it is an investment. You'll eat the cake and you will hang the dress in the back of the wardrobe but your photographs are your memories of your day. You will keep them forever and show your kids, so make sure they are amazing.

Secondly, pick a wedding photographer who will be fun to be around on your day. As a supplier, they are with you all the way through so it is good to have a giggle together!

My favourite movie of all time is Almost Famous - I should of been a teenager in the seventies! The fashion, the music..... Kate Hudson's character Penny Lane has a catchphrase - 'It's All Happening' Reminds me there is a world full of potential out there and you just need to go out and grab it!
