Afternoon Lovely People!

We have a gorgeous autumnal shoot to share with you today from one of our wonderful advertisers, Wilderness Weddings in Kent. If you are still on the hunt for a venue then feast your eyes on this little beauty! Equipped with a licensed woodland (as of 2017), stunning lake, giant hat tipis, wonderful countryside views and your very own champagne and cocktail shack bar, Wilderness Weddings offers it all for your wedding and the pictures from this shoot is proof of that.

Autumn is my favourite time of year and this shoot captures exactly why. The colours are beautiful, the countryside shots just look majestic and that warm glow that comes from the autumn sun is visible. I have always said that if I was to get married again, it would be at the start of autumn. There is just so much you can do with your decor and, as this shoot illustrates, an outdoor wedding venue just looks so gorgeous at this time of year.

Anna, the owner of Wilderness, talks us through the open day and her very special hidden gem in the heart of Kent.....

Boho Luxe in The Wilderness....

Wilderness Wedding Venue in Kent opened it's gates over the gorgeous weekend of Autumn sunshine at the end of October. We were bathed in warm sunshine all weekend and couples really got a sense of how magical our venue is in the golden sun.

The magnificent tipis stood in a woodland clearing surrounded by ancient oak tress, silver birch and wild ferns and had wonderful views over the pretty wooden bridge to Deerson Lake. Our venue is famous for its sunsets and it is just behind Deerson Lake that the sun goes down casting incredible pink skies over the venue. At this time of year the entire venue becomes blanketed by a magical mist as the sun goes down - it really is quite something.

Hire-Love provided some brilliant vintage props for our shoot including a rare double peacock chair, wooden trestle tables, copper candle sticks and goblets, vintage crockery, terrariums, tea lights, an antique chandelier and sumptuous furnishings.

Gwenda from her own Bohotanical provided some fab wilderness inspired flowers for the tipis and reception areas.

We were inspired by the amazing autumn we have been lucky enough to have - the majestic trees decorated in their copper, chestnut and golden leaves and the wonderful long skies we have in Wilderness. Elly our model has a totally natural and pure look and so barely needs any make up. Her Titian like auburn hair worked perfectly with the natural autumn colour around her and as the sun set on the tipis we soaked in this amazing rich russet-red evening light.

The colour palette is very natural - allowing the innate beauty of the woodlands, the particular quality of dappled light and shadow it enjoys, the rambling ferns, wild campions, and long grasses of the meadow lead the way. The colour of the tipis work perfectly within the woodland setting and guests attending a lake side ceremony here get to catch the first glimpse of the tipis as they wonder back across wilderness and into St Mildred's Woods.
