New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 is in full swing, and street style has never looked better. The sunglasses alone have us re-thinking our accessories game! Here are a few looks from NYFW, captured by our gimlet-eyed street-style reporter Kristin Yamada, that we plan on emulating posthaste.
Shiona Turini, celebrity fashion stylist and consultant, never shies away from colorful components or crop tops, which makes her a frequent focal point for street-style shutterbugs. That's not to say her looks are ever remotely the same-turns out you can work quite freely within those guidelines. Here, we love how her peach pants almost act like a neutral color when paired with her coat of many colors and Fendi Monster bag.

Velvet is crushing it so hard this season, and author-stylist Liz Uy found the sweetest way to insert it into her bold getup, proving she's a street-style star indeed. This lush bordeaux platform is luxurious-almost in a pinup girl way-but it's grounded by her modern graphic tee and contemporary accessories. With the added height of the heel, a midi skirt works well and continues the retro element of her style for a chicly fun effect.

As the designer of her own shoe line, Chiara Ferragni knows how to pick a pretty pair. These supple blue velvet booties seem like the next best thing to walking on a cloud. Grommet detailing around the waist of her crisp white shirtdress furthers the airy vibe of the Blonde Salad's style. But tossing on a military jacket toughens up the look.

Remember when we said that the street-style scene was practically swathed in velvet this fall? Well Instagram star Pernille makes a good case for it in this stunning crimson blazer. Balancing the sumptuous fabric with frayed denim dresses down the luxe texture. A sweet flat helps keep the overall effect casual and-especially with that basket-weave handbag-seems perfect for skipping off to shows.
