Tanya Taylor is feeling refreshed after a spate of vacations this summer that included trips to Capri and Cuba. But these were working vacations. The talented designer always paints her own prints, this time she did so while taking botanical inspiration from her travels. Her intensely textured and artisan-inspired Spring 2017 collection not only features these flamboyant florals but also prismatic embroidery, sequins and palm leaf perforations. While these are clothes that grab attention, they are also just lovely and fun-or how a vacation should be.

M*A*C makeup artists furthered the holiday theme of Tanya Taylor's collection by creating dreamy, beach beauty with luxurious skin and a flushed cheek using palettes from their Spring '17 Trend Forecast collection. Even if you can't take off to a tropical island now, you can look like you just returned from sunning with this simple makeup how-to.

At Spring Studios, Tanya Taylor's models stood amid brightly colored cubes topped in matching shades of sand. Flowing skirts and wide-leg pants aided the relaxed mood of the collection. Peasant blouses were done up with intricate embroidery, pretty perforations, bare shoulders and bell sleeves.

When the colors were muted, the cuts were dramatic. Tanya Taylor's use of patterned perforation to create modern lace-like textures on white tops, skirts and dresses was elegant but in a light and easy way.

Mixed patterns and textures made the already playful clothes even more joyous. But this collection shouldn't be chalked up to pure pleasure; Tanya Taylor managed to construct a vibrant wardrobe that is both mature and exuberant, one that teems with masterful details and sophisticated tailoring.

M*A*C artists perfectly complemented these colorful clothes by developing a strongly feminine and chic look that didn't try to compete with the varied hues. Nevertheless, the makeup wasn't muted, just laid-back and beach-ready.

How to get the look:

  1. Begin with a lightweight foundation to create luxe looking skin.
  2. Add a fluid sweep of Red Head shadow around the eye. As a contour, the artists added a long line of Dirty Blonde.
  3. M*A*C artists added a sexy strobed cheek that, while visible, was sheer and glossy. The result was a noticeable healthy flush as if you had been running down the street on a hot day.

    5. A boyish, not overly done brow framed the eye.
    6. They finished with a semi matte satinlip.
