SUNSET ROMANCE - BLOVED Blog

Well hasn't it been nice to get at least some sunshine and heat! It's been beautiful! One thing I love about summer days and evenings are the sunsets that are created. The evening sky is painted with the most glorious of fruit salad colours; of peaches, oranges, corals, reds and pinks, mixed with some purples and blues. Quite stunning! I absolutely adore sunrises and sunsets, they create the most dreamy of settings and the colours produced make the most fabulous orange wedding inspiration!

Injecting some colour into your wedding creates a fun and lively atmosphere and is perfect for a summer wedding and would work so well with one of this year's key trend; tropical. Big bright florals are a natural choice to add some zing and colour pops into proceedings. Think coral and peach peonies, with some yellow, pink and orange roses with some perhaps some red and pink sweet peas. An abundance of colour and scent! An ombre effect would suit this theming so well with the colour fade that's naturally found in a sunset. You could use this effect on the wedding cake or perhaps in ice lollies and cocktails; perfect on a summer day. Peach coloured napkins or napkins, in perhaps a stripe would add to the effect and add an extra dimension. I would keep the cutlery and crockery quite simple as the florals and linen are bold and you don't want to detract from them. Similarly for the bridal fashion, keeping it relatively plain and classic can help focus on the colours within the details of the wedding and will look stunning for photos taken at sunset.

Drinks Tray: Add a pop of colour to your serving trays; whether serving champagne, OJ or cocktails, this Oliver Bonas tray would look superb!

Cake Stand: If you fancy contrasting your colours, then green works particularly well with reds, corals and oranges and this beauty from Amara would also inject a tropical vibe to your wedding.

Coloured Straws: If you're having cocktails or drinks served in tumblers, then straws are always a good idea. Have some fun with colourful chevron patterned ones. These from NOTHS would work well.

Being named after Jane Austen's Emma, it is serendipitous that I would end up working in weddings. A country girl at heart, I am equally comfortable roaming the farm in my tweed, surrounded by animals or sat in a beautiful Georgian property dining on afternoon tea and sipping champagne. With a strength in organising and a flair for creativity and a passion for everything wedding related I have been lucky enough to work as a Wedding Co-Ordinator for some stunning venues across the South East. I look after the social media and am Co-Planner at Goose & Berry, luxury wedding & event planners & caterers based in London & Buckinghamshire (www.gooseandberry.co.uk) and am on hand to help you plan and design your perfect day.
