Super Chic Italian Wedding

Super Chic Italian Wedding

via

Hello lovelies, Claire here.

So you may have noticed we've been on a bit of a hiatus over the past few weeks, that's because I was off getting hitched (it was awesome, I'll fill you guys in on all the details soon!) and Elizabeth and I were cooking up some exciting changes coming to the blog later this year (which you're going to LOVE!).

But now, we're back for good, and we've got an especially gorgeous real wedding to celebrate.

Fabienne & Fabio's effortlessly chic destination wedding in Italy, with pictures by one of our favourite Italian photographers, Stefano Santucci.

With the stunning hillside town Monforte d'Alba in Northern Italy as their backdrop, Fabienne and Fabio's day was influenced in every way by their setting, from the limoncello favours to the olive garland decor.

Their ceremony was held in a stunning old church, followed by a stroll through the town, photographs on a vineyard, and even a ride on a moto gave a nod to their destination.

With a gorgeous wedding dress (look out for the pretty bow on the removable train) and a dapper mix and match suit, the Swiss couple set the tone for their stylish affair.

This gorgeous wedding reminds us (not that we needed reminding), that whether it's Piedmont or Portofino, there's just something so idyllic, romantic, and downright photogenic about weddings in Italy.

The lovely Stefano Santucci shared a little more about Fabienne & Fabio's beautiful bash...

Fabienne and Fabio's wedding was a lovely celebration of love in Monforte d'Alba, a little colourful town in Piedmont, in the Northern Italy. Surrounded by hectares of characteristic vineyards, Monforte d'Alba is part of the zone of the noble Barolo wine production. Coming from Switzerland, Fabienne and Fabio, have different origins, and they decided to get married in Italy to have that Italian flavour for their big day. They tied the knot in Saint Augustine Church, that used to be an abandoned church located in the upper part of the town. Thanks to Fabienne's beautiful planning, it became a gorgeous late '600 Baroque church, filled with the scent of the olive branches and peonies. The marriage was a very emotional ceremony also thanks to the speeches of the sisters of the couple. Then the couple and all they guests moved to Palazzo Martinengo, which is an amazing palace just few streets away from the church, where the luncheon was held, in the terrace with a breathtaking view of the Langhe landscape. But the party continued all night in the outstanding venue Villa Beccaris, where was served the dinner followed by the dances.

Pretty special, right? I'm just in love with Fabienne's dress (her hair is fab too!) and I'm always partial to olive leaf and herb decor.

Thanks so much to Stefano Santucci, and of course to Fabio & Fabienne for sharing their gorgeous destination wedding with us.
