Laura and Jeff first met when he hired her at his company, sparking a work relationship which quickly turned into more. "After a year and a half of developing a great professional partnership, somewhere along the way, we fell in love," Laura reminisces.

When it came time to tie the knot, the couple took notes from various wedding styles, themes and colours to create something truly one of a kind. "I had a hard time narrowing the entire wedding experience down to just one theme. I took aspects I love from various inspirations I've seen over the years and rolled them into the best day of our lives," Laura says.

For their colour palette, the pair chose a wide variety of hues like gold, blush, mint, mustard, grey and even neon coral for a bright and cheerful look. They then added in an array of kitschy and cute details, and the result was a completely unique and whimsical look. "We had gold geometric prisms, gold lawn flamingos, a gold, diamond-shaped piñata, gold antlers, gold-painted pineapples and lots of glitter," says Laura.

As their wedding was to be held outdoors on the beautiful grounds at Stonefields Heritage Farm, Laura and Jeff had been counting on a gorgeous September day for the event. "The weather forecast was a 100 percent chance of rain all day, but as luck would have it, the skies cleared 20 minutes before it was time to walk down the aisle. We were able to pull together the outdoor ceremony we had envisioned after all," Laura explains.

Aside from the ceremony, one of Laura's favourite moments of the day was the choreographed routine she and Jeff performed as their first dance. "Jeff and I had taken dance lessons from a professional ballroom dance instructor prior to the wedding. We did a choreographed rumba to Madonna's 'Crazy For You,' complete with a hair and makeup change by the bride. I'm proud to say we did not let our instructor down," says Laura.
