Wedding Tradition :: Foot Washing Ceremony | Snippet & Ink

A wedding is a tradition in and of itself, but within a wedding there are many opportunities for a couple to connect to their history, heritage, family, and values. We're excited about our new series, Wedding Traditions, where real brides and grooms share the traditions they included in their big day, and what the tradition means to them.

From the Bride, Robin: During the ceremony, we washed each other's feet. Jesus did this with his disciples as a symbol of his devotion to humble himself as a leader and serve his followers. It was the only part of the ceremony when I cried. It was also memorable that Jon couldn't quite figure out the straps on my shoes, so instead of putting them back on, we finished the ceremony with bare feet.
