The ceremony was at Casa Periques, a catalan farmhouse with amazing views of the Montserrat mountain, in Barcelona, Spain.

We were looking for the ideal place for a long time, until we found the perfect farmhouse, somewhere outdoors with views of the mountain, a place where the kids were able to run and play and where we'd have the opportunity to plan everything exactly how as we wanted.

Marta wore a beautiful dress by Otaduy, with a partially sheer top and a pleated skirt, with shoes from a little shop in Barcelona and jewellery from her mum and grandmother. Her mum braided her hair for her, and together with a friend they created her makeup look; gentle definition on her eyes, and a pop of red to her lips!

Julen surprised everyone with a tie from Bond & Burlington, suspenders and shorts!

The young disabled people from the "Estimia" Foundation made the bouquet.

We relied on our own essence. We looked for anything that represented us and ran away from everything about weddings that we didn't identify with.

We had white and green streamers and flowers everywhere, raffles, a waltz with confetti. Everything was original to us, leaving that day seared into our minds and our guests.

Simple, far from any protocol!

It was an opportunity to celebrate our love with our families and friends. To do this, we left the the 'norm' far behind and broke with usual procedure; there were no guests unhappy in suits or in unwanted high heels!

Julen helped designing the menu for the wedding. To name but a few of the dishes: we had cod fritters, loin extremeños, ham, paella and homemade sweets!

A big cake made of biscuits and Nutella, by Marta's mother and her sister-in-law.

The tables were well dressed thanks to napkins made by Marta's mother, boxes of strawberries and a few jars of preserves.

The guests received some gifts chosen with love by the couple: tote bags (Marta's favourite!) and a few temporary tattoos designed by us which were such an amusement for children and the not-so-children!

Everyone contributed to a huge Spotify playlist, it was great! The party merged with the dawn of the next day!

Yes! We chose a techno-pop song for the first dance! Even the most introverted guests found themselves dancing!
