Greg's proposal to Chelan could not have been more romantic. The pair share a love of visits to the planetarium, so Greg knew it would be the perfect place to pop the question. The couple set out to see the stars one night shortly after Christmas and Chelan initially thought it was just a coincidence that there was no one else at the planetarium when they arrived. "I was so excited that we were the only people in the theatre," she explains. "Once the lights went down, the show operator asked me to name a planet I would like to see, and I said 'Venus, the planet of love.' He showed us Venus as well as a bunch of other planets and stars. At the end he said he wanted to show us one more video before we left. The video started with shooting stars and the Coldplay song, 'A Sky Full of Stars', and then all of a sudden there was a picture of Greg and I and our dog up on the big screen. I was shocked! The video continued for many more minutes. There were so many meaningful pictures of us and all of the places we had been together as well as a clip of Greg explaining how we met, how he knew that I was the one, and how much he loves me. I had tears streaming down my cheeks, it was the sweetest thing I had ever experienced. He got down on one knee, proposed to me and slid the most beautiful diamond ring on my finger after I said yes. We then popped a bottle of champagne and headed outside where there was a limo waiting for us. It was a magical night that I will never forget!"

For their wedding day the couple settled on a rustic elegant theme. "Natural wood, succulents and burlap mixed with chandeliers, vintage crystal, and candlelight helped us achieve the look we were after," Chelan explains. "Greg's dad made the ceremony arch out of birch wood that we found behind their family's cabin on one of the Gulf Islands, and our signing table was a table that we found in an alley and refurbished. My sister and I went to every vintage store in the Lower Mainland to collect all of the vintage crystal and milk glass vases. We wanted the wedding to feel very personalized with lots of little details." she adds.

Chelan says one of the best moments of the day was the sparkler send-off that friends and family gave she and Greg at the end of the celebration. "It was so beautiful to have all of the people who mean so much to us both surrounding us with their love and spectacular light. It was a very magical moment for us both that we will remember forever."
