New Year's Eve Winter Wedding in France

New Year's Eve Winter Wedding in France

The week of New Year has to be one of my favourite weeks in the whole year, so much hope and inspiration for the coming year. Today we are celebrating with a truly beautiful New Year's Eve Winter Wedding in France planned by FWS vendor Marry Me in France and a captured by FWS Vendor Zen Film Works.

Chris from Zen Film Works takes us through a winter wedding in France: "Some people may cringe at the idea of a winter wedding, however from my point of view as a wedding film maker in France, I can't think if any reason why not too. There are so many beautiful bright sunny days in France over winter and the light for photography and film is so soft and beautiful.

With crisp and frosty mornings you cant help but be inspired by the countryside and a dynamic and alive environment to have your wedding day. As the day warms up and the frost melts into the green grass, you venture outside your cosy chateau and let the crisp, fresh and energizing air fill your lungs as the excitement of the day grows. The sun is still warm and inviting in winter here in France and you will certainly be able to enjoy the outside gardens through the day, and your photographer and film maker will have a field day with the soft and delicate light that the winter sun provides.

Summers in France can be so so hot and one major advantage of the winter weddings is that you will actually be comfortable in your thick wedding gown and the boys will be enjoying the warmth of their 3-piece suits. Another advantage is that you will be able to have your pick of all the best suppliers, as most of them will be free.

Layout of the day:

Lubna and Jamil became engaged on NYE so it seemed fitting to have their wedding on the same date as their engagement. They also chose NYE as the sense of hope and new beginnings that NYE brings, is also reflected in their relationship and love for each other.

Lubna took a crisp morning run to calm the nerves the morning of her wedding day. With a bright fresh morning Lubna and two of her friends set out to explore the local area. Back at the chateau all was running smoothly with the help of Beth From Marry Me in France. The bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done to perfection, breakfast of fresh croissants, fruit and coffee was being served and all the guests were enjoying their morning.

Following preparations, Lubna and Jamil took advantage of the beautiful light before their ceremony with a "first Look" shoot with film maker Chris from Zen Film Works and Photographer Craig George. The light and garden was enchanting and really made our jobs easy and pushed the creativity.

With a sumptuous dinner in the chateau followed by dancing and a fantastic countdown into the new Year, this wedding was something special and was certainly intimate and warm."
