Dark Horse; Cool Equestrian Wedding Inspiration

Dark Horse; Cool Equestrian Wedding Inspiration

When you think of a polo club wedding, you tend to think of something polished and preppy, but as today's inspiration shoot shows, it can also be dark, cool, and entirely romantic too.

Beautifully photographed by Loren Weddings, and uniquely styled by Jenin Paradise of Planning for Paradise, this shoot shows how elegance can still have an edgy side, with vintage dresses, striking accessories, black decor and bright blooms.

With gorgeous hair and make-up inspiration (the short up-do/cool earring combo is our fave!), dark tablescaping (which we don't often see) and a pretty Illinois countryside setting, this shoot has lots of ideas you can borrow for your own big day.

We'll leave you in the safe hands of the lovely Jenin Paradise, to tell us more about the concept behind the shoot...

About the Shoot

Arranmore Farm & Polo Club's homestead elegance definitely sets them apart from your typical outdoor venue. Three hundred breath-taking acres and a serene pond surrounded by weeping willows were just a few special touches that brought this wedding inspiration to life. My goal was to create a very Vogue - vintage Polo wedding look, with lots of dark vibes flowing to compliment the seasons changing from autumn. Instead of the typical warm hues that are seen in bouquets this season, I wanted the floral to be the noise. I created a very bright + bold toned bouquet, hand tied with black lace. A dark fall-inspired tablescape was placed strategically on the polo field, that is arguable the most perfect shade of green ever, adorned with modern-romantic stationary and light touches of vibrant floral. The wooden horse cake topper, was definitely the "icing on top of the cake." From one of a kind, delicate lace vintage gowns to little romantic touches that flowed throughout, I absolutely fall in love with this shoot every time I look at.

Oh those florals are just incredible, what colours! And didn't I tell you those earrings with the swept updo would be fab. How stunning are the dresses too?

Wouldn't this look be perfect for an alternative winter wedding?

Thanks so much to Loren Weddings, Jenin Paradise of Planning for Paradise and the rest of these talented Chicagoland vendors for sharing their shoot.
