10 Naked Wedding Cakes We Love | Fly Away Bride

via

Today we're honouring one of the most delicious trends that is definitely staying the course in the world of weddings: the naked wedding cake. Full of wild textures and yummy visible layers, these cakes can be decorated with fresh flowers and fruit, or with whatever you feel like really! Because their look is natural and organic, they're perfect for outdoor, rustic celebrations. They can also be elegant: check out the simple decoration of the small one-tier sponge below; just a simple lavender bouquet topping adds the perfect touch! We adore the greenery-wrapped yellow buttercream, and how amazing would the sprigs of raspberry and rosemary be to decorate a naked Christmas wedding cake? For more cake ideas check out our watercolour wedding cakes, and for some practical advice see our guide to designing your wedding cake. (And yes, there are actually eleven cakes in this post... but we couldn't resist adding in the last one!)
