I don't know about you but I am already dreaming of Spring. The smells, the sounds, the flowers. Yeah I know, we've only just left Summer but Spring is by far my favourite time of the year. There is always anticipation and promise in the air for good weather and everybody is so much more positive as a result of it. It's also the time of year that one certain flower comes out to play.....The Bluebell.
Today's pretty spring shoot, put together by Naomi of Wedding Tattle and featuring one of our gorgeous wedding venues, the Pretty Gardens and Barn, is all about the magical bluebell flower.....
"Turn a bluebell inside-out without tearing it would mean you would eventually win the one you love," so the folklore tale goes." Naomi Tells us. "This shoot was inspired by bluebells - their colours and the whimsical feel a carpet of bluebells shares with us all.
Choosing to marry in May surrounded by those blue little flowers is a rather special time of year, designing a day which fits in around these flowers makes the most out of the backdrop they provide for photographs. 
Alex Rickard's photos are soft and flow naturally from one to another, sharing a story of the day. Each item was designed so it would fit with the surroundings and each other, meaning the whole shoot tied in together seamlessly. There are many wedding shoots showcasing the work of suppliers but the looks are sometimes unachievable for couples. We all wanted to inspire brides and grooms to-be with little touches which are slightly quirky but very achievable. The moss covered chandeliers and moss inspired table pieces with succulents and purples tied in with the woodland backdrop. Bell jars, moss and succulents are becoming more popular with weddings and look stunning alongside well-chosen flowers; Flower Craft in Lindfield have the most beautiful vision. The bouquet was stunning and blended with the backdrop perfectly. The gown was a flowing dress from Johanna Hehir's new 2016 collection. The dress was teamed with gold pieces from My Fayre Favourite who worked together with a Flair 4 Hair to ensure the pieces fitted beautifully with the overall look. The make-up, designed by Sapphire Pink was very natural but with the hint of gold it ensured the bride's eyes looked stunning with the accessories and the golden light on the day. Meanwhile, the groom wore a more casual outfit from Gresham Blake but still retained a smart look. I wanted to inspire grooms to not feel they always have to wear a suit on their wedding day. The pink trousers ensured the groom stood out just as much as the bride at the end of the shoot. 
We started with the table laid for four outside with the trees surrounding the silver sequined table linen from Gilded Linens on a rustic table with items such as tea cups and bell jars from Roses All Over. After the flower girl stood among the trees and the bluebells, the bride joined her and stood in the sun as it started to set. The groom then joined and sat around the table enjoying their time together with macarons and marshmallows made by The Garden Chef. It ended in the woodland surrounded by the bluebells for photographs together to end the shoot. The shoot was set in the Pretty Gardens and Barn which has the most gorgeous backgrounds for weddings in every season. The venue offers couples a unique location which is relaxed and rustic. The gorgeous barn which is based in the grounds of the estate is used by couples for their receptions. This venue worked perfectly for the shoot as it not only had the glorious carpet of bluebells but it also allowed us to play with the overall look because the venue provides a natural backdrop which allows couples to work with their vision for their day.
