Weekly Wedding Tip: Each Year is What? | The Bridal Guru

For years, I have heard of special anniversary celebrations for the 25th, Silver Anniversary, and the 50th, the Gold Anniversary. But, what about the one year, first year anniversary? What is representative of that all important first year?

Take a look at the chart. It's a graphic you see in every issue of Premier Bride of Mississippi. For your one year anniversary, it's paper. I guess that means find something paper oriented. What could that be? Gift certificates are always nice, new stationery, money is paper. What can you come up with that's paper for the one year anniversary?

The 10th year is tin...tin for ten. Did they do that deliberately, whoever came up with this chart? And who came up with this chart?

I like the 15th Anniversary. Time for new crystal. And the same for the 20th, china. After the 25th, the symbols are really fun: Pearls for the 30th, coral and jade for the 35th, sapphires for the 45th, emeralds for the 55th, and diamonds when you reach 60 years together. I can't wait!

Men, especially golfers will probably like the fifth and sixth year marks, wood and iron, respectively. New woods and new irons, perfect excuse for any golfer. Come to think of it, my husband purchased new woods and new irons at about those time periods...and many others.

Tracking anniversaries is fun. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I have! Let me hear from you!
