Favorite Wedding Dresses from Barcelona Bridal Week

If you follow Green Wedding Shoes on Instagram, you probably noticed we were in Barcelona a few weeks ago as the US Blog Ambassador for Barcelona Bridal Week!! Barcelona Bridal Week (BBW) is considered the leading event in Spain and the European benchmark of bridal fashion. They celebrated their 25th anniversary this year and it was such an amazing trip to be able to see + meet so many talented wedding dress designers - plus a few other wedding bloggers from around the world!

With over 20 runway shows and ending with the show stopping Pronovias show (which featured top model Irina Shayk along with a bunch of other Victoria's Secret Angels) it was quite a week!! But enough talk, let's get to the gorgeous dresses, right?! :)

One of my favorite shows was the YolanCris show. Their designs are perfect for boho chic brides and I was loving all the floral appliques, lace, crochet and macrame details. I honestly loved every single gown of the 40 they debuted, but here are some of my faves from their 2016 collection.

The Olesa gown (above) includes one of my current favorite trends - a bridal capelet made of fine chantilly.

The Castelao gown above is the perfect wedding look for the modern bride. It has two pieces, a long sleeve crop top made of lace and a skirt with greek style valances.

Spanish designer Jesus Peiro was inspired by snow princesses and her collection was full of feathers, lace, and crop tops over ball gowns.

Houghton was the only US designer invited to the show and they didn't disappoint! If you're not familiar with Houghton, the collection is designed by Malibu native Katherine Polk who cites Katherine Hepburn and Bianca Jagger as inspirations - strong women with timeless style. Loved the fringe, lace, capes and overall flowiness of so many of the gowns.

I loved the floral patterns and tulle designs from Spanish designer Isabel Sanchis.

I mean, right?!!?! Love it...tulle for days!

Another favorite (and new-to-me!) was the Marco & Maria show. The sheer fabrics, feathers, pastel colors, organza + tulle won me over. Wait until you see some of the details on these dreamy gowns!

And the last show of the week was the largest, the and with the theme, Once Upon a Time, there was a giant clock in the background with the show starting at midnight. :) Model Pronovias show. I had heard so much about their shows and it didn't disappint. The show took place at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya Irina Shayk stole the show in her 3 looks including this amazing lace dress she started the show with.

The lace details on their gowns are so stunning and loved all the capes and trains on their gowns.

But the true show stopping moment? This cape gown Irina wore - talk about an entrance! And sounds like you guys loved it too since the photo I took of this dress was the most popular of my photos from the week. :) Seriously so excited for a real bride to sport a cape like this!!

So, I'd love to hear, which dresses did you love? I hope I shared a new designer (or 2 or 3) with you guys today also. And thanks so much to the BBW team for inviting Green Wedding Shoes to Barcelona. We loved your city and left so inspired. Can't wait to return in 2016!
