DIY Train Station Wedding: Tiffany + Sean

DIY Train Station Wedding: Tiffany + Sean

via

Happy Friday, guys! We hope you're ready for a fun weekend ahead, but first, let's check out Tiffany + Sean's adorable wedding, held at the Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah. Their day was full of surprising details, DIY elements and loads of rustic-meets-vintage charm. We love that instead of a theme, they just wanted the day to be filled with the things they love. Unless you're purposely planning a fun theme, this is totally the way to go! Let's hear more about the super sweet setting from their photographer, Izzy Hudgins:

The historic Railroad Museum provided the industrial background on which you will find floral handmade pillows, mismatched vintage chairs & dishes, brightly hued wildflowers and a yummy DIY biscuit bar. The bride's sweet light blue gown was custom made for her by indie designer Faith Thornburg and the bride included her love of kitties by tying a kitty ribbon around her bouquet and adding kitty lace to her reception hair piece. This talented bride also hand stitched every single one of her invitations!

Our First Look was the most memorable for both of us. We'd been together off and on all morning, but that was our first chance to see each other dressed up. It was the first time in several weeks that we could just be together and not worry about wedding things - it was all being taken care of and we were able to relax and enjoy our time together. We were also able to spend more time with family and friends because we had our photos out of the way.

Another memorable moment for me was seeing everything set up. I had worked so hard on so many aspects of the wedding, and just seeing that it all came together as I had envisioned was a wonderful feeling. I was most excited by our ceremony balloons with garland - there was a chance that it wasn't going to work as I had wanted it to, but it came together perfectly!

Such a fun ceremony site! Those balloons really make it...

Processional: Edelweiss (Instrumental)

Recessional: Mendelssohn's Wedding March

First Dance: If I Should Fall Behind - Bruce Springsteen

The adorable custom reception bow Tiffany chose was by Adele Amelia.

Tiffany says, Our centerpieces were definitely a labor of love. We spent close to two years collecting vintage jars and vases. My Maid of Honor, Danielle, and mom helped me with putting together the flower arangements and Sean and his Best Man, Chris, painted the boards we set them on. We ended up repurposing those boards for shelving and a side table in our home.

Hire a coordinator! It was one of the best decisions we made. I had the creative side covered and just needed someone to help out with finding the best vendors and setting everything up the day-of. Nicole was at our venue from the early morning until late that night to meet vendors, set everything up, ensure it all ran smoothly, and then break everything down. There's no way we could have done it all on our own without sacrificing some of the details. It also kept me calm knowing that everything was being taken care of!
