Industrial Brooklyn Wedding: Marlo + Sam

Industrial Brooklyn Wedding: Marlo + Sam

Marlo + Sam did what so many couples are also guilty of: they jumped the gun + booked a wedding venue they really just weren't happy with. But instead of settling, they decided to keep on looking for the perfect spot. And once they found The 1896 in Brooklyn, with the help of their planner + designer (Nicole from All Who Wander Event Design), things began to finally fall into place. Below, Marlo tells us a little more about their thought + planning process for their wedding:

It was really important to Sam and I that our wedding reflected us and our love for each other. We both have a high level of attention to detail and design from working in post production so everything had to be customized to fit our aesthetic. We had an amazing planner, who grasped our vision and was able to orchestrate our dream wedding day. Oh yes, and Pinterest also helps!

One wedding detail they got totally right from the get-go? Hiring Whitney from Our Labor of Love to capture the day! We're in love with these artful photos!

We'd say they made the right decision booking The 1896! Love its super industrial feel.

Marlo + Sam share the same favorite moment from the day: the ceremony and their personalized vows.

About the styling + installations from Nicole, When we set out to design the venue, we knew we wanted something dramatic. We took on the challenge of installing color condition swags crisscrossed on the ceiling to create a really amazing texture in the space. I fell in love with this couple in planning this wedding, and I really hope that our friendship and collaboration shines through.

We're pretty sure that cake below, by Lael Cakes, was amazingly good!
