Hearts & Flowers Retro School Love Valentine's Shoot

Let's get in the mood for love.

In case you have been in hibernation mode and didn't know, it's Valentine's Day tomorrow. Yay. G and I are not ones to really celebrate and have no plans. But we are both off of work and have the boys, so aside from A's Saturday morning football we have a family day together. We tend to exchange a card and little gift but we don't go mad by any means. I think it's a lovely chance to sit back, think about your relationship and take a little time out together to do something fun :-)

This afternoon is all hearts and flowers. I so love this cute styled love shoot. School sweet hearts, love, scrummy treats, red hues and a lot of lush blooms. There are some fab retro ideas here to use in your engagement shoot or wedding décor guys. You are going to love these images.

Thanks so much to Vintage Mingle for sending over this gorgeous set of images.

"This styled intimate shoot features our happy couple as they commemorate their (recent engagement) love for each other while adding a twist of vintage fun. Celebrating the tradition of love and happiness, Valentine's Day, with a touch of school room nostalgia that we hope will remind you of a time when love and life seemed to know no limits.Wistful school room reminders include milk and cookies, sentimental doodles (think notebooks and love notes), school supplies, globe, books, chalkboards, diy decor and of course some vintage Valentines cards. The couples' attire is done in a vintage collegiate style, the bride wearing a pink full, midi skirt and vintage white booties, while the groom is adorned with a button down cardigan, dark blue jeans and of course Chuck Taylors. The backdrop of this simplistic shoot are of varying lengths of heart paper garlands to serve as the consistent backdrop in all of the styled scenes. Tutorials can be found on the internet and its great way to incorporate some easy and inexpensive decor to any setup. The sweetheart table. An easy and nod to passing out Valentines inspire our place setting (a candy lollipop, vintage Valentine place card and heart shaped doily). Centerpiece of this tablescape are clusters of floral arrangements, carnations and books. The dessert table is a dainty round pink table sprinkled with heart shaped confetti. Instead of the traditional wedding cake and to keep each of the styled scenes in keeping with the school theme, we thought to have a tower of heart shaped sandwich cookies (raspberry filled shortbread sandwich cookies). Additional touches include a vintage red stapler to adorn our dessert table signage and some milk bottle beverages with a coated rim of sprinkles and soda straws. Milk and cookies go hand in hand."
