Sandrine & Leigh's Hawksmoor Wedding - Wedding Friends

"If the train does not stop at your station...then it's not your train"... Today we share with you a personal favorite, Sandrine & Leigh's Hawksmoor wedding. The wedding was captured by Tyme Photography and their work...well speaks for itself. Enjoy this love story with us!

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

As with many of today's modern relationships, we met where most of us spend the
majority of our time, at the office! We were actually both assigned to the same project all
of 5 years ago and ended up working together on a daily basis over the course of the next
few months. It was only near the end of the project that we began socializing outside of
the work environment and before we knew it we'd fallen for each other and were a
couple. My fondest memory being of us standing at a train station in Zurich about to part
ways for the evening and kissing for hours, not wanting to let the other go.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

That very special moment, the moment when I had to get down on one knee and ask that
all important question, well that took place on a truly stunning beach off the coast of
Madagascar (Nosy Iranja). A nervous moment indeed in which I scribbled out 'Will you
marry me?' in the white sands of the beach, hands shaking in anticipation of the answer
to which I received the reply 'yes, yes I will...'. Truly a moment we will never forget and
a place we will visit again someday as it will always hold a special meaning for us.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

I'd have to say for us there were just so many perfect moments and highlights on the day,
but if we had to choose one we'd say it was seeing all our guests, ourselves included
dancing the night away under the stars on our open air dance floor. What really made it
that much more special was that having been a hot summers day with the most perfect
weather for our dream wedding, a typically strong Cape wind picked up in the evening
and as it blew through the paper lanterns that hung above the dance area it was as if they
dancing to the beat with us as everyone let their hair down, enjoyed the refreshing wind
on a summers evening and danced the night away. The quirkiest highlight would have to
have been when we stepped up to cut the cake and as our guests looked on, watching us
about to slice through the gorgeous chocolate cake that stood before us, little did we
realize that the number one rule when cutting a delicate tiered cake is not to start from
the top, and as we sunk the knife into the cake, it began to topple. Quick hands and some
team work from the newlyweds saw the moment saved in the nick of time with sighs of
relief from the guests as gasps turned to smiles once more in the knowledge that they'd
all finally get to taste a piece of the chocolate masterpiece.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

A dream come true, saying our vows and committing to one another in what can only be
described as the most perfect day of our lives thus far that took place in a little piece of heaven on earth.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides
